Uneven Skin Tone

An uneven skin tone, also called hyperpigmentation, is irregular darkening of the skin. The cause: overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin and hair color. Uneven skin tone is caused by several factors such as sun exposure, pollution, hormones and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation which is darkening of the skin as a result of scarring, which can be caused by acne lesions or skin injury.

TREATMENT SOLUTIONS:

CHEMICAL PEELS

Chemical Peels are an ideal choice for the treatment of hyperpigmentation, particularly for lighter coloured spots. There are a number of chemical peels that are specifically formulated to help with the reduction of age spots and even out overall skin tone, while leaving the skin hydrated.

SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

Melanin inhibitors, Retinol A, Vit C and B Serums can help to lighten and brighten skin.

SKIN NEEDLING

Skin Needling is highly effective for treating hyperpigmentation on dark skin colours. This multitasking treatment creates rejuvenating micro channels into the skin to promote a more balances and normalized cellular function. As melanocytes (pigment producing cells) are directly targeted, a repair and corrective process encourages an even skin tone creating a radiant appearance.

DERMAPLAINING

Dermaplaning is a procedure that exfoliates your skin and gets rid of dirt and vellus hair, better known as “peach fuzz.”A scalpel is used to scrape off the top layer of dead skin.
The exfoliation and hair removal can leave your skin brighter and smoother. The treatment may soften fine lines and wrinkles and ease hyperpigmentation, or uneven skin tone. It’s also used to treat deep acne scars.
